Caitlin and Brendan Wed at Trinity Church and Reception at Admiral Room, Buffalo, NY - Photographed by Ariel Hawkins Photography
Memorial Day weekend was nothing short of magical as I spent the day with Caitlin & Brendan, celebrating their love across the city of Buffalo, NY.
We started at with not one, but two emotional first looks: first between Caitlin and her dad, where tears of pride and joy flowed, and then the moment Brendan saw Caitlin for the first time walking down the stairs—his nervous energy was electric. Her timeless dress with its sweeping train took everyone’s breath away.
After wrapping up the first looks, we headed to Shea’s Performing Arts Center, where Caitlin surprised Brendan with their names and wedding date shining brightly on the marquee, a Broadway-worthy moment big enough for an encore. One of my personal favorites was capturing Caitlin & Brendan sharing a kiss as a train rolled by just behind them!
Next, we strolled over to Delaware Park behind the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. Even though spring was still settling in with a cool breeze, the shots were serene and romantic. We simply had to recreate the iconic Beatles Abbey Road moment across the park's charming walkways as well as we crossed the road, look out for that one. Also you can’t beat getting fun shots behind the Albright Knox Gallery. The huge pillars and Neoclassical look is iconic here and it’s one of my favorite places to be.
Trinity Episcopal Church is such a beautiful venue and everyone was so friendly. The ceremony was officiated by their friend who shocked them all when he showed up clean shaven for the first time in MANY, many years, then took a selfie mid ceremony! After everyone came down the isle, their beloved dog made her way down the aisle to greet them as well. It was such a heartfelt and playful moment that showcased the couple’s fun loving spirit.
After the ceremony we headed out and did a big exit from the church and then did some family photos in the courtyard.
We wrapped up the day at the stunning Admiral Room. With its tall ceilings, gorgeous light, classical pillars, and elegant décor, this space on Main Street is truly picture-perfect. I had so much fun documenting every smile, tear, and joyful cheer of their big day! We had so much fun together and I’m so glad that I get to work with such beautiful amazing people! Hope you enjoy this sneak peek while I work on the rest of the day.
