I met Mia via a phone call made on Monday of last week. She had mentioned that she was marrying her soon to be husband Eric this year and that they were really excited, (especially him) for the engagement photos! In her email to me it was important that the photographer she chose could get an engagement session done this week, deliver finished files for the Save the Dates and was also available for their big day. It was like fate, because it just worked out!

THINKING ABOUT GETTING MARRIED OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS? READ THIS!
Are you or someone you know getting married this coming year ?!! If so congratulations !!!! A wedding is a lot of hard work to get planned. I want to make it easier on you by hiring a reliable, friendly and professional person who is devoted to documenting your memories! It's the best thing you can do to get things running smoothly on your big day !
If you've ever met me, you know I LOVE my newborns, like a lot! I love children period. They are such amazing little people and I never pass up a chance to hang out with them! It's also a ton of fun to hang out with a couple of parents, whether they are new to the game or have other babies. It's always a great experience to photograph a couple with their newborn!
So without further adieu, I want you all to meet my new friend Addison! She's a super sweet, little lady that totally has stolen a piece of my heart! Her parents had no idea what an ordeal it would be to bring her into this world, nor did they realize how big she was or how much they would fall deeply in love with her. It's so wonderful to see unconditional love, it's the best kind.
I photographed Amy & Justin's wedding not so long ago and now was rewarded with the chance to document their beautiful new addition to the family! It makes me so happy to be able to live this life, truly I am honored. We had such a great session at their home. Addison was completely cooperative and she's just such a little sweetheart!
Thank you Amy & Justin for allowing me to document some of her first moments! Hope you enjoy, LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
Sometimes your clients are awesome and they brave the brutal cold to grab pics with you! I had such an amazing time with Dana, Steve & Stella out and about in Buffalo, NY for their engagement session! It was a ton of fun to hop around Tift Nature Preserve & Main Street in Buffalo. Thanks for the amazing time you two!
So it's time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and head out in front of the camera again huh? And you're wondering who you can call to schedule that family session with for the year. Well you're in luck because today I have some great tips and tricks to picking out the photographer for YOU and your family.
What a fun day out in Allegheny! It makes total sense that Katie & Eric would have chosen a place like this to throw a huge celebration for friends and family. The couple lives in the Grand Canyon. Which is breathtaking if you haven't had the chance to go, you totally should!
Katie & Eric were basically pre-destined to be together from a young age. You can tell they have a great little bond. Between the big moments were the silly little ones and it was really fun to watch and be a part of! You can tell that both families are very close and that was pretty neat to see too.
The outdoor ceremony was pretty hilarious. I mean it was absolutely beautiful too but you could cut the tension with a knife until the efficient gave the bride and groom little tiny liquor bottles. Of course this led to the whole crowd breaking out in laughter! Good stuff there!
The speeches were great, the food was wonderful, the bar was open and everyone had such a great time! At the end of the night Katie ran out to the lake and Eric quickly followed. These made for some really great end of the night shots that I know they will cherish for many, many years to come. So awesome to have a bride and groom that are adventurous!!
All in all the day was pretty epic and we had a lot of fun! Thanks so much for being adventurous and out there you two! Hope you enjoyed reading along, congratulations Katie and Eric! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
Oh my gosh! What a fun little morning I had catching up with Shannon, Andrew & my new favorite little, Liam! Shannon & Andrew were married in May of 2016 in Skaneateles, NY and it was probably one of the hottest days ever to be married & preggers but man did they pull it off so well! It was such a beautiful occasion and if your interested you can check out that blog HERE!
But moving along... Saturday morning with the gang was a blast. We had an overtired baby but that didn't stop us from capturing some really, REALLY cute little memories! It was so nice to meet this little dude, see the two of them again and just get to snuggle with my new friend! Shannon and Andrew live out near NYC, so when we they decided to book me for their wedding we discussed a few different options as far as another session that could go along with their package instead of an engagement session.
Over the months after the wedding we had finally decided to do something closer to Liam's first birthday so that they could have portraits of this milestone! I think it was such a great decision! It's always great to catch up with past clients and continue to document their family and it's growth in love and life!
Thank you so much Shannon & Andrew for trusting in me to be that person! Hope you enjoyed the read, LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
Oh my! What a day it was to spend with Becky & Josh while they tied the knot! These two love birds have been together for 12 years since they were in high school. They have waited super patiently to go ahead and throw a huge celebration with family and friends to celebrate their big day and I'd say it was totally worth it! It didn't come without hiccups for these two but they made it work and moved their big day from Rochester, NY to Buffalo, NY with ease.
The day of their wedding was such a blast! We started off getting ready with the bride and her bridesmaids. Hair and Makeup was done and Becky spent a few minutes unwrapping a very special gift from her bridesmaids to her. While Mom and Amanda, her sister helped her get into her dress and put all of her jewelry on, Dad waited patiently to see his daughter for the first time. It didn't go off with out a few tears, but it was such a great moment!
We headed off to the ceremony at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. That place is awesome by the way if you're looking for a beautiful streamlined, clean white church! The ceremony was beautiful and included lighting of the unity candle and a sweet little first kiss!
After the ceremony was over we headed out to Delaware Park near Hoyt Lake and the Albright Knox to grab some photos of the bridal party and the two of them. It was a nice day a little hot but man did these two do such a great job of having a blast and enjoying every moment! I'm sure you can tell by the pictures!
There are so many great things that happen when you open your heart and let some love in! There is no exception here between Nikki & Eric. I could tell from the very start that they had something special and I really enjoyed watching the two of them planning and getting ready for the one of the biggest days of their lives!
The entire day was centered at Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster, NY. It's a gorgeous venue with tons of wide open space and lots to discover on the grounds. The 2nd text I received on the day was from Nikki saying the front was flooded from the torrential downpours that had occurred the day before! When I arrived, I had drove in on a back road. I could see that the front entrance was actually completely covered in a small river! But non the less, Nikki was cool as a cucumber and super happy that her big day was here!
A few weekends ago I spent the day with Jenna & James while they celebrated their big day. It was such a chill day between the two of them. They had a lot of family and friends to celebrate with and everyone looked so amazing!
We had such a good time celebrating with them. From their high rise hotel rooms to the Paula's donuts served during the reception it was a fantastic day. It was a beautiful June day in Buffalo, NY not too hot, not too cold just perfect for running around the city. We went from Karpeles to the brand new Hotel Henry then off to Delaware Park for formals and it wouldn't have been complete without a rowdy bridal party cracking jokes and picking up James! Who LOVES hugs so much.... just kidding. He really doesn't.
Jenna looked absolutely stunning in her dress and it was just such a beautiful celebration of marriage. I am so glad I was able to be a part of their big day and I can't wait to work with them into the years to come!
Hope you enjoyed reading along! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
I get this literally every time I talk with a client. Whether we are talking about doing a portrait session, planning their wedding day or catching up on a milestone. These are the words that 99% of people will tell me. "I'm awkward in photos, you have your work cut out for you!"
It's interesting because the expressions I get to capture are always priceless and they happen in the blink of an eye! I'll let you in on a little secret.....
Okay so I may have a hard time putting into words how much this little guy right here means to me. Samuel was born on May 15th 2016 and has completely been a blessing to the whole family. He is such a handsome, wonderful little person and I am so glad that I have the chance to know him. He really can brighten a room with his chubby little cheeks and dimples. His smile goes from one end to another and his little laugh is totally infectious!
This year the little guy wasn't feeling so hot on his actual birthday but it didn't stop him from smashing cakes, and throwing them on the ground! We had a nice little family party for him and enjoyed each others company.
To my little nephew my wish for you in life is to continue to grow in love & life. Grow knowing that we are always here for you to support you, help you in times of trial and continue to validate the wonderful things that you decide to do! You are such a kind and loving little guy and I can't wait to be a part of your childhood into adulthood. My best friend Sammy Hammy, I love you to the moon and back again. <3
I have such a fun time creating new and interesting things for the studio to offer as something you can take home with you to proudly display!
The other day I started playing around with this little wood blocks that I had lying around. I took some portraits from a recent session I had. I had exactly 4 blocks and they look so nice all together. These could be displayed in some many different ways! You could hang these on the walls, use them on shelves, display them on your mantle.. the possibilities are endless!
Then I started to make the custom box for my clients that ordered their entire digital gallery. I had to include some fun items in the box along with the digitals right!? As a photographer I know the importance of printing. How many times have you gone home with a file and never, EVER printed it?? So I set out to include a little gift that they won't forget because who doesn't love something extra that they weren't expecting!?
I had such a great time with Erin, Justin and Kayli the other day out at Glen Falls! They were all so much fun to hang out with and in the 30 minutes that we hung out I knew that I really liked them. I learned so much about their little family during our time together. I really enjoyed the time that we were able to spend together!
I had Erin and her daughter Kayli back in to the studio a few days ago to show them all of their portraits and we had a blast! You can check out some of the matted portraits she took home with her. I can't wait to work with these beautiful ladies again!
Thanks for coming out and making memories with me Erin & Fam! You guys rocked your session! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
Another beautiful, made with love wedding album is going out the door today! This custom designed authentic leather album was made by yours truly! It's a light cream color that will match flawlessly with the couple's existing decor but will also be a timeless classic for many years to come. I know their children's children will enjoy looking at these albums!
This 8x11 Album along with 2, 6x9 parent albums came along with Kristy & Don's wedding package. Such a beautiful way to remember your big day, by being able to pick up your album and take a look at it!
It was really fun to create these albums and I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they pick them up!
Good grief, I don't even know where to begin when talking about our cross country trip to California! I guess I'll start with WE ARE CRAZY! We actually did it though!
My teeny Scion XB included the following items: 3 BMX bikes, 4 suitcases, 2 helmets, 1 giant cooler, a large camera bag, a small camera bag, a video camera, 4 skateboards, 1 pillow and 1 blanket and to top it ALL off... 3 people! To say we had any room at all was an understatement.
We knew going into our trip that we had 2 entire weeks off so we didn't stress out on how much time it was going to take us to reach Los Angeles, which was nice. It gave us time to stop and see some really cool parts of the country and take it all in!
I can't express how excited I am that my brother in law and his finance are having a baby, let alone a little baby girl!! The first one in our family! I am beyond thrilled, to say the least...
Each year for Christmas we have big celebrations with my husbands side of the family, my mother in law and of course we do Christmas morning with my son and visit with my family later on in the day. This year we changed it up quite a bit!
My son, husband and father in law all headed out in our car to Manhattan, NY to visit Amanda & Dustin instead. I have only been to NY twice. Both times for less than a day. This time we got to spend 4 days in NY.
We were welcomed so warmly with open arms and tons of love! We spent every day with them galavanting all over Manhattan & Brooklyn. We really got to see all of the fun little spots and it was such a pleasure getting to know Amanda even better! I seriously can't wait to have a niece!
Every year I stand back and reflect on all of the wonderful people that have surrounded me throughout the year. Last year is no different. Every single person that comes into my life influences me in so many ways. They make me stronger, a better person, reach for more and help me enjoy life to it's fullest potential!
2016 was a fantastic year and I can only imagine what 2017 is going to bring to the table! Thank you to each and everyone of you who trusted me to document your family, your wedding, a brand new baby, your maternity or your engagement. It means the world to me and I love seeing all of the milestones and moments as the years go on.
I had such a great time with the Perry's out and about in Delaware Park the other week! Sam and Jack totally melted my heart with their little smiles and playfulness.
We went out on one of those gorgeous November Days and enjoyed playing baseball & basketball. We also had a chance to play in the leaves, grab some sticks and just run around!
I love these documentary family sessions so much! It's so much more fun when the kids can be just that, kids! There are no rules just a ton of laughing as you chase kids around and enjoy watching them play and interact with their family.
Thanks so much for joining me out and about you guys! I look forward to doing it again in the future! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
I have known Danielle now for 5 years, 5 wonderful years of friendship, laughs, good times and everything in between! I am super happy for these two! There is no love like the love you have for your child and I know these two will be great parents! Plus ummm that bump! Come on!! So congrats you crazy love birds and I seriously can't wait to meet this little boy!
Dani, Mark and I headed down to the Cobblestone district downtown in Buffalo, NY to grab some memories of a time that is so important to any Mother and Father! We walked around the area battling the crazy winds and the lovely cold that only Buffalonians know. It was a short, sweet session and I had tons of fun with the both of them.
Our next photography date together will be for his newborn portraits, which I seriously can't wait to snuggle this little dude! Thanks for reading along today! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
Good grief, sometimes I seriously have to pinch myself at how much fun I have with couples! This session was probably one of my favorites to date. Becky & Josh had me laughing, and just smiling from ear to ear.
Becky and I chatted on the phone before meeting up for the first time, and I knew we were going to have such a wonderful time together! And we totally did! These two really have a love for each other that was super evident in how they talked, interacted and just enjoyed each others company throughout the evening. I couldn't help but leave that day with a giant smile on my face!
Terry Hills Golf Course was such a beautiful venue! The staff was super friendly and the course was stunning with all of it's fall foliage. Now add in Becky and Josh's love for golf and bam, perfect session!
Jenna, Jimmy and I met up this year to start discussing wedding photography for their big day next year and we had an instant connection! I could tell within the first hour we were going to have a great time with each other. I also knew their engagement session was going to rock!
They both completely trusted me with any ideas I had and the creative part of what I wanted to do, which makes it that much easier to go with the flow, have fun and enjoy doing an engagement session!
We headed out to Artpark in Lewiston, NY to take portraits and they even brought their best friend Bundy the dog! We walked around different parts of the park enjoying the beautiful Fall colors, getting a hike in and sweating our butts off! It was totally worth it though! Their session turned out just perfect and here are some of my favorites. Hope you enjoy, LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO.<3 Ariel
The last day of September was spent with two very wonderful people tying the knot! I knew the day would be full of fun and I was right. We started the day off at Meghan's childhood home with her parents and close friends and family. They drank wine, laughed and opened presents. It was pretty emotional to watch as each gift was opened and the reaction that it created. The boys goofed off and had a ton of fun getting ready as well.
We headed down to Saint Joe's in downtown Buffalo for their ceremony and wow is that a stunning church! It was a beautiful & intimate ceremony complete with laughs from the bride and groom as the priest put the microphone in their faces for the vows!
What can I say about Kristy and Don's big day besides literally AWESOMESAUCE. And yes, yes that is a word! The day started out at the home that Kristy grew up in with her Mom, Dad, brother and bridesmaids. We did a first look with her father and honestly I couldn't hold back the tears.
Afterwards we headed off to the church in North Tonawanda to celebrate their marriage. It was beautiful ceremony and a beautiful church! We went from the church to Delaware park to capture the formals and a few portraits of just Kristy and Don. They even brought their dog Hannah in for a few pictures and she was quite excited to be there!
We ended our tour down by the lighthouse on the pier near Canalside in Buffalo and headed in to Templeton Landing to get our party on, and party on they did! It was a fantastic reception filled with tons of love, laughter and good times had by all!
I had such a wonderful day with them and I can't wait to watch them grow in love and life together! Thanks for reading along today, hope you enjoyed it! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
I had the opportunity of meeting with Nikki and Eric earlier this year and I can't say how happy I am that we met! They are both super laid back and we have been having a great time together!
I was honestly blown away with their outfit choices for their engagement session and I could tell that it was going to be fantastic. When your client's first words as you meet up are "We are really awkward" you know you have you work cut out for you. BUT! It was so easy to photograph these two! I knew that it would be perfection and I LOVE a good challenge!
We started out early in the morning by the Japanese Gardens behind the Buffalo history museum right as the sun was rising out of the sky. It was a beautiful morning. Not to hot and the perfect lighting for their session. We worked our way around the grounds and their outfits fit so perfectly with the marbles, iron railings, and the beautiful gardens surrounding the museum.
They wanted to go to Canalside next and I brought in the suggestion to keep the dress on for a minute and to stop by the Cobblestone District. I knew that the dress would work so wonderfully with all of the reds, browns and purples that are all around that area! And boy oh boy was it nice!
We then skipped over to canal side to grab a shot with shark girl, ha ha! As well as grab some really great captures of their love for each other, and believe me it was hard to see!
We had such a great time with each other and I can't wait for their wedding day! It will be awesome, I just know it! I hope you enjoyed reading along today! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. <3 Ariel
What a fantastic day we had with Tracey & Jason! I mean seriously, it was supposed to rain & thunder all day with very high wind warnings... Instead we had one of the most beautiful deep blue skies I have seen in a really long time!
I met up with Tracey and her crew early in the morning to start documenting the day. We went through hair & make-up and laughed a lot! There were a few hiccups in the planning but in the end it wasn't about what didn't work out, it was all about what did! Also the simple fact that they were getting married!! We went to a friends house to do some formal pictures of the girls. But first I took some portraits of Tracey and her father doing a first look which was really sweet!
